Tine Rasmussen wins her first European Championship!

Before the finals Tine Rasmussen had no difficulties in the tournament, but the German player Juliane Schenk had other plans. Actually it was the German “underdog” who led most of the first set – up to 17-12. Then Tine Rasmussen found the routine and won the first set 21-19.

Unfortunately the final sprint was not transferred to the second set where Schenk again controlled the match and won the set 21-14.

Luckily the German “machine” did not manage to be as well-oiled in the last set where Tine Rasmussen by 20-18 finally hit the baseline. Juliane Schenk let it fall, while Tine Rasmussen could let her arms rise up in the air - another title to her. Thereafter she gave the German player a hug as thanks for an excellent match, while Tine on 18th April 2010 well-deserved won her first European Championship.
